About the event
Dr. Gardiner will speak about the concept of One Health from her past perspective as a sheep farmer to her current position as a Laboratory Animal Medicine veterinarian, the challenges of its implementation at the local level, and will touch on the role of the veterinarian as the cornerstone to the future success of the One Health Mission.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Gardiner (VMD, MB, DACLAM) is a laboratory animal veterinarian at Penn Vet, demonstrating top-tier clinical care and performing groundbreaking surgical procedures for translational disease processes. After her VMD, she completed a one-year specialty internship in Exotic Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery at Penn Vet, and then pursued a three-year residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine at Penn. After completion of the residency and her specialty boards, Dr. Gardiner became a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine while working as a Clinical Research Veterinarian for the Gene Therapy…
